The Chiara Center

The Chiara Center serves three purposes: it is a place of retreat for women, it houses the women who are in their first stages of formation in the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist or in the Land Program, and its seminar room is used for workshops and conferences.

"Chiara" is the Italian of "Clare." The Chiara Center is named in honor of St. Clare of Assisi and in memory of Sister Mary Chiara Rezende, a young woman who took final vows as a Franciscan Sister of the Eucharist just hours before she died from cancer in 1992. Sister Mary Chiara has been an inspiration to many young people since her death.
