23rd Annual
FRANCISCAN
SPORTS BANQUET

The 23rd Annual Franciscan Sports Banquet dedicated to our dear friend, Coach Rob Szymaszek, was a joy-filled, successful evening. The tone of the evening was set by Rob’s dear friend, Steve Filippone, and closed with the blessing of Saint Francis sung by the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist.

Father John Rooney from Houston, Texas; Sister Mary Roberta Connors, FSE, Coordinator of the evening's Silent Auction; and Brother Leo Maneri of the Franciscan Brothers of the Eucharist admire the New York Giants' 2008 Super Bowl Championship trophy which Kevin Gilbride proudly shared at the banquet.

Kevin Gilbride, the NY Giants' Offensive Coordinator, spoke about the Giants' season and Super Bowl Championship. Paul Pendergast, President, Saint Francis Hospital Foundation, and recipient of the Jim Calhoun Community Service Award, affirmed the works of the Franciscan Life Center and encouraged people to continue supporting our mission. In addition, a photographer from the Record-Journal took hundreds of photos of the event which you may view at myrecord-journal.com.

Thank you to all who participated.
